Innovation Proposal

If you survey middle school students about their least favorite class, math will usually be one of the top answers.  So, why do students dislike math?  it's too difficult, too boring, takes to much time; these are just some of the answers given.  Since students dislike math so much, let's send home work to do every night that is difficult, boring or takes to long to complete and be disappointed when assignments are not turned in the next day or students are not grasping a concept.  Let's change the system.
Proposal
Students need guidance in the classroom and so do educators.  Using the blended learning techniques, flipping and station rotations, students will receive instruction at home and guided learning in the classroom.  A video lesson will be posted online giving students the opportunity to learn at their own pace.  Instead of spending class time lecturing, class will be spent reteaching. hands on learning and higher level questioning.  This will not be done overnight.
The Plan
Behind every plan, there must be research to back it.  Research shows that blended learning works!!
Research
Our learning in never complete.  We must model life learning.  Below are my future readings and research to continue my journey to change the lives of my students.

People are more likely to buy into an idea if they know why.

Not all necessary conversations are easy.  Learning how to communicate with others is important in leadership roles.
