Reflection
As I began the journey of implementing blended learning in my classroom, I did not realize the extent of research needed to complete the task. Hundreds of hours of research has lead to the development of a literature review discussing what exactly blended learning is, what it isn't, challenges, benefits, and lessons learned from others experiences. There are many resources supporting blended learning, however implementation is more challenging than it appears. Blended learning is in its beginning stages and more research and studies need to be completed to insure proper implementation. Action research fulfills this need in a timely manner providing teachers with the chance to better understand their teaching practices, build relationships with fellow teachers, and deals with current issues on hand (Mertler, 2017). My action research plan gives teachers a method to self reflect and implement blended learning to improve educational practices. I began with a basic outline, then developed an updated literature review, an action plan, a timeline and a plan to ensure a systematic agenda for teachers to follow.
